Tra questi spicca il Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle a Chiang Rai, una location talmente suggestiva da essere considerata come uno dei set principali per le riprese della terza stagione della serie cult The White Lotus.
Il suo stile è inconfondibile: un massimalismo colto, dove la sostenibilità incontra l’opulenza e dove ogni dettaglio racconta una storia. Americano di nascita ma asiatico d’adozione, ha stabilito il suo studio in Thailandia nel 1990, Bensley condivide un destino simile con Jim Thompson, il leggendario “re della seta” scomparso misteriosamente. As we do every year, Doodesign was there in the front row to experience the most anticipated novelties firsthand specifically, to discover an absolute preview of a collaboration destined to leave a mark: the one between the historic maison Jim Thompson and the visionary Bill Bensley.
Stepping into Jim Thompson’s Parisian showroom felt like crossing a magical threshold—a portal that allowed us to leave the gray European winter behind and instantly immerse ourselves in a lush, bold jungle rich with history.
The “Maximalist” Genius: Who is Bill Bensley?
To truly understand the scope of this collection, one must first understand the mind that conceived it. Often defined as the “King of Luxury Resorts,” Bill Bensley is much more than a designer. A Harvard-trained landscape architect, Bensley is the signature behind some of the most spectacular and iconic hotels in the world. Notably, his work includes the Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle in Chiang Rai a location so evocative it is considered a primary filming site for the third season of the cult series The White Lotus.
His style is unmistakable: a sophisticated maximalism where sustainability meets opulence, and where every detail tells a story.
